Location
This photo was taken about on the shoreline about 3km south of Haifa, Israel. When I was training for my first marathon I used to run at the area every week, and every time I would look at that location and said to me myself, I really have to come back here with my cameraTime
The photo was taken during sunset, sometime around 6-7pm, my favorite time of the dayLighting
I remember waiting for the exact angle of the sun. It was a bit cloudy that day so I had to wait for the sun to come out of the clouds and hope it won't be after it would setEquipment
I used Canon 5D mark III, with the 16-35 F/2.8 lens. I also used a slik 330 dx tripod and a LEE graduated 0.9 ND filterInspiration
I was looking for something distinctive to use as my subject in the photo and then I found the pile of rocks in a shallow "pool", I remember looking through the camera on the location and saying, this is the frame I was looking forEditing
I had to add some contrast to the photo with a bit some clarity in lightroomIn my camera bag
My photo bag usually contain my 5D mark III, canon's 16-35 F/2.8 Lee filters set and a tripod (slik 330 dx). If I am go traveling I also take my tamron 24-70 F/2.8 and 150-600 F/5-6.3 lens with latter used to take photos of nature's wildlifeFeedback
Plan ahead, I visited this location about ten times before actually going to take the picture. Also before going I looked at the sky and checked for the right amount of clouds in the sky. You would want to have some clouds in the sky, but too much or too many can change the image drastically
