Location
I try to go white water rafting at least once every few years. This was taken on a hike to the beautiful Ukonom Falls, which is part of the Klamath River in Northern California. The water is icy cold, but the experience is worth it.Time
After a long, cold, and wet hike, I took this photo once we reached our destination. We were part way through a long day of white water rafting along the Klamath River and took a planned break for this magnificent hike. This photo was taken in the middle of the day (around 1pm).Lighting
Since I was outside, in the middle of the day, I was relying on the location of the sun and I wasn't disappointed. I waited for the near perfect time, which I was fortunate enough to be granted, and snapped this photo.Equipment
I used a simple water proof camera and relied on the natural lighting to help me out.Inspiration
This is one of my favorite places to be. It is calm, relaxing, and refreshing, as the sound of river puts me to sleep and makes me want to come alive, all at the same time. Nature rejuvenates me and this photo reminds me of her beauty.Editing
I enhanced the photo slightly, but other than that, this is pretty much what the original looks like.In my camera bag
I love my Canon T3. I am still learning the ins and outs of the camera, as I consider myself an amateur photographer. I didn't grow up using a manual focus camera, as I never owned one. Now that I am more experienced, I am learning the process little by little, especially how to work with the lighting. It is a work in process. I am more versed on my Nikon, but the manual and auto focus options of the Canon have me intrigued.Feedback
The middle of the day seemed to be the perfect time to capture this photo. I didn't have a choice regarding the time I took the photo, as we took a hike and happened to arrive at the right time. I guess it was fate. I kept my eyes on the sun and used my instincts.
