My sister, Kathy, is a fantastic quilter. One year when I was teaching, I prepared a unit on ocean animals. I asked her if she could throw together something I could use with them. She created this amazing beach scene quilt. When Harley was born, I got her a mermaid outfit and used the quilt my sister made for the background. This photo is one of many mermaid shots I've taken.
