Behind The Lens

Location

This shot I actually snapped on Need For Speed using PlayStation 4 screenshot mode. It is in the virtual city created by Electronic Arts called Ventura Bay. This is at the Granite Springs Monument.

Time

One complaint all gamers have about this game is that it is always nighttime, or in certain areas, (like this one),late evening. I can't complain, however, with the time of day for this photo.

Lighting

Typically on this game, it is too dark to take any shots. Thus either causing photos that are too dark, or if you turn up the exposure, certain spots in the picture are over exposed.

Equipment

Again, this shot was taken on a video game, therefore, no equipment was used.

Inspiration

I was just drifting around the slick corners, I seen the monument, skyline, palm trees, and mountains, all of which we're given a brushed sunset background.

Editing

To be completely honest, this photo was extremely easy to create. The b&w foreground and colorful background just happened. I use a free photo editing app on my cell phone, and this effect was immediately created in using one filter tool. Of course this was not shot with a real filter.

In my camera bag

I am still dreaming of my first dslr purchase. I have an opportunity at a Nikon d3300 with 2 lenses in a bundle.

Feedback

Even though I do not have the equipment as do other photograpers, I have done my best to achieve what I can. I believe we can always make due with what we are given, no matter how little or how seemingly insignificant it is. If we can dig below the surface and find our inner creativity, we can accomplish beautiful things. I have always enjoyed the work of photographers who never go with the obvious or typical angles, I like to see the world from all angles, through the eyes of someone else who is creative. Altogether, I believe everyone has an artistic talent inside. Whether painting, music, poems, books, or even photography, they're all works of art to me.
