Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Ohio where my daughter use to keep her horses. I started doing photography as a hobby, photographing nature. As my children got older we started seeing what I could do.

Time

This was mid afternoon, close to sunset. I believe it was June or July, my daughter had a horse show coming up and we had to hang photos of her and the horses in the barns where she was showing.

Lighting

I didn't try to change any lighting I used the sun in the original.

Equipment

I was using a Nikon D3100 and that's all.

Inspiration

Like I said we needed the photos for her show coming up, while I was going through all of them photos and editing I seen this one and loved it. I changed it to black and white and fell in love with it the way it looked.

Editing

Honestly i only changed it to black and white, i thought I'd have to maybe adjust it some, but once I changed I didnt want to do anything more.

In my camera bag

I have my Nikon ofcourse, a zoom lens, tripod, extra cards, and extra batteries. I dont have much I am still trying to build up my equipment. I am still learning a lot and having 6 children has made it hard to accumulate everything I would like to have. Now that they are grown and on thier own i hope to be able to upgrade what i currently have and add on, along with learn much more.

Feedback

Keep trying everything doesnt have to be planned. My daughter was just looking out in the field after we were done shooting. When I turned around I seen her like this and had to take a photo. This is definitely one of my favorite shots.
