Location
This image was taken in my studio to create some headshots for this young lady to use in her upcoming beauty pageant.Time
It was around 2:15 p.m.Lighting
For this image I used a 22" beauty light as my main. I used a Larry Peterson Half moon eye reflector under the subject to bounce in the pretty catchlights. A 4x6 soft box feathered light in from slightly behind the subject, left of camera. A 200 ws kicker was used on the far right back corner of the backdrop and an over head 12"x48" soft box was used as a hair light. I used two 400 ws lights on each side of the background to illuminate the high key background.Equipment
I used a Canon 5D Mrk lll camera with an EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS ll USM lens. Focal length was 175mm and the exposure was f/13 @ ISO 200. I don't recall if had the camera on tripod or was free holding it.Inspiration
I wanted light that would bring out this young lady's beautiful eyes and complexion.Editing
I retouched this image with PS and Portrait Professional. In my camera bag
Normally I carry Canon 5D Mark lll, an EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS ll USM lens, a Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM Lens. Canon Flash, Strobie 230 flash and receiver, Spider holster and a bogen/manfrotto tripod.Feedback
In this scenario, it is important to align the light reflector, adjusting the distance to get the eye reflection and catchlight, best done by visually observing from the modeling lights and then doing a test shot,
