Dedicated in1918 to honor William H Perry-a superintendent at Wheeler & Wilson Manufacturing Co and parks commission president. He left money in his will for the creation of a gateway to Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Ct. The arch was designed by Henry Bacon who designed the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC. Here the archway faces away from the park.
