...this image of the beautiful cathedral church "Alexander Nevsky" a Russian Prince was shot in the capital city of Sofia in Bulgaria eastern Europe.Time
...the time of day I shot this image was around late afternoon, the light was great giving many good detailed shadows off the facade of the building, which I think brings out such detail especially in monochrome. I have shot many images of "Alexander Nevsky" over the years, this is one of my favorites.Lighting
...this image was shot in natural light in the late afternoon one of my favorite times of the day.Equipment
...this image was shot hand held on my EOS Canon 7D, glass was Canon EF 28-70mm 1:2.8 L with polarising filter.Inspiration
...what inspired me to take this image was the beautiful architecture of the building, I like very much architecture and history and "Alexander Nevsky" has it in abundance. I have shot this cathedral many many times but I keep going back there to try and get that " perfect" shot " so watch this space [smile]Editing
...yes I did some post-processing on this image, firstly with Photoshop to darken the image slightly and then Piccure to bring out maximum detail of the buildings facade. In my camera bag
...the equipment I normally carry around in my bag, if I am in the city is Canon EOS 7D and Canon EOS 6D, the glass I like to use is Canon Zoom EF 28-70mm 1:2.8 L and Canon zoom EF 70-200mm 1:2.8 L IS II USM.Feedback
...personally, I think that the time of day is very important to bring out light detail in a building, and also going back to the location if possible many times, because you will always see something new that you did not see on previous occasions.
