I took this photo at Port Elizabeth, on a warm summer's day. I took a walk along along the beach with this beloved friend of mine. I love sunset photographs and this is definitely one of my favorites.Time
It was early evening. That time when the sun sets, there is was still the warm of the sun in the air but there was also that chill that comes along with the sea breeze. The exact time was September 7, 2013 5:46 PM.Lighting
Nature's beauty is undiluted, it needs to add ons or adjusting. You just need to be there at the right time and be ready to capture the moment.Equipment
I used a Fujifilm FinePix S4000 14MP Camera and no other equipment.Inspiration
Nature itself, the raw beauty inspires me. When I go for a walk along the beach in the evenings I always want to take a camera with me. Sometimes I have to purposefully leave the camera behind so that I can appreciate the beauty instead of trying to capture it. But it always seems as though today's sunset is better that yesterdays but yesterday I would have thought, "this is the best sunset ever!".Editing
This is actually a 'raw', no post-processing whatsoever. If anything it would have been straightening it a bit because I didn't use a tripod. In my camera bag
My camera is quite small, so in my bag I would have just the camera and and hopes, hopes that I get a good shot for the day.Feedback
For sunset photos, you need to walk around the area where you are planning on taking shots. Scan the are see which is a good angle and then note the time that the sun goes down because sometime the sun set very quickly and you might just miss the moment. Same with sunrise, wake up much earlier than the time the sun rises and be at your spot and be ready to capture the moment.
