Location
This is an Image of Alicia, we did an outdoor shoot together to create some emotional images. I am more the Headshot Photographer, but love to get the viewer in a contact with the Image. I am really happy that we found a hidden place near my small studio where this photo was created.Time
oh, good question, it was round 2 PM and my luck that it was a cloudy day. :)Lighting
thats all natural light, no reflector or flash, just a cloudy day, but i put her near some trees so i get a little more contrast.Equipment
only a Nikon D700 with a 70-200mm at 2.8. i wish i had a tripod with me, but i need to be able to move and find a good angle, so no tripod or anything elseInspiration
i randomly try to shoot things i normaly do and with Alicia i was able to test some styles or locations. to tell you the truth the sample image come from her. it was another body position but i think this position flatters her more.Editing
Normaly i go with SOOC because i love the style and love when i am able to create exactly what i want in camera. this one obviously has a small retouching / conversation to Black and White and some grain added. No skin retoching or anything else.In my camera bag
My bag is really small, or lets say i don't have one. i carry my Nikon D700 with a 70-200 F2.8 with me when i go to a shot. on normal days you see me with a Nikon D90 with the 50mm 1.8. Thats always my favorite Combination. i can do hust everything with it. The Fact that i use the D700 on shoots is that I'm lazy and this combination forgives more mistakes.Feedback
When you shoot People you need any kind of expression. there isn't a Photo in the world that looks good without expression (except for sure my Zombie styled series). So you need to create some kind of expression and the key to it is to chat with your subject. Its to akward to not saying something during minutes when you point your camera on a person. My secret for this image of Alicia is, that i placed a thought in her head of something she misses, so i get her concentrate on that. And this creates the emotion i capture.
