Behind The Lens
Location
I took this photo at my apartment complex while taking a walk.Time
It was late afternoon.Lighting
I like shooting with as much natural light as possible to try and replicate what is seen with my eyes.Equipment
I used an older minolta dslr with a macros lens and just got as close as possible.Inspiration
I have been trying to improve my technical skills and recieved an older camera and a macros lens as a gift. Since I have little experience shooting with a macros lens i figured the best way to learn is to go out and shoot and see what turns out. It was some trial and error but in the end I really just loved the vibrant color of the flowers and thought the hardness of the grill emphasized the fragility of the flower petals.Editing
In post, i cropped the photo and added more contrast to highlight the flowers. In my camera bag
In my bag i have either my canon minolta, whichever one is not hanging around my neck, my macros lens, and random toys like hot wheels or mini plastic animals.Feedback
My advice is to not overthink or talk yourself out of an idea because you are scared. A lot of my photos start off as crazy random pictures in my head. If you have an idea or an image in mind don't second guess yourself. You never know how good an idea is until you try it out. Even if it is a bust you learn something from the experience and become one step closer to turning your idea into reality.
