Location
It was at her studio apartment. The bedroom has very high ceilings and long windows. Makes for fantastic photos.Time
It was early morning. Best to shoot indoors with the rising sun before heading outdoors to take on-location work.Lighting
If you have long windows and want perfect light diffusion... get thin mesh drapes. Also fun to play with.Equipment
Canon 6D, Tamron 28-75 2.8, and that's it. Very simple setup.Inspiration
As I always answer with these: the constant chase. Imagine that "beauty" as we know it being a quality of something were suddenly a little nymph or fairy running through a forest. You can never catch her but you are allowed to get close enough to touch it for as long as you can keep up. Then it drifts away into the distance and you restart the journey. That cycle never ends. That's life. And art. And photography. And the reason I shoot.Editing
Very little. I have black and white presets that I tweak for these sorts of shots. This one has a "classic" element to it - more refined than most others. This deserves black and white. I did make sure to accenuate the shadows on her body being so close to the highlights. In retrospect, I would probably redo it with a little extra of the same emphasis on the right half of the shot. Live and learn! In my camera bag
Typical stuff. Canon 6D. Tamron 28-75 2.8. Polarizing filter. Batteries. Clothespins. Hair ties. Bluetooth speaker.Feedback
Don't be afraid to yell "FREEZE!" If you see something for a fraction of a second, backtrack and go get it. Don't let those moments be lost. I saw this shot as she was motioning to take it off and ended up seeing something much more special.
