Location
This is a nectarine tree in my back yard here in Yarraman, a small country town in Queensland.Time
The bees are always buzzing around our fruit trees, this shot was taken around 2pm and as you can see it was a beautiful day. Not a cloud in sight.Lighting
My main purpose in taking this photos was to try and get as close as possible to the bees without disturbing them or getting stung. I had taken quite a few shots on different days but with the vibrant blue sky , the sun shinning behind me and the clear shot I ended up with I am very happy with it.Equipment
I have a canon 400d, using my favourite lense 28-80mm and adding my x10 macro adapter. Nothing else was used just the beautiful surrounding and a great dayInspiration
I have always loved watching the bees around this time of year, every year I try to make sure I get a few shots of the bees and my fruit trees. Nature is amazing to watch and one day I hope to get an even closer shot.Editing
I cropped out some unwanted branches on the right and the far left of the photo so as to really focus on the beeIn my camera bag
I always have my favourite lense 28-80mm, I don't leave home without it. I have many macro adapters with are always packed and a few spare batteries.Feedback
Have fun with it,Sometimes the more you think about a shot, especially with nature, bees, ants, bugs etc.... you will miss it. I'm lucky I have so much of that in my garden all year round so I don't have to plan a day trip to botanical gardens or a similar place , I can just walk outside and click away. Enjoy and have fun.
