Location
I took this photo at Cottesloe Beach, Perth, WATime
The time of day was mid afternoon, I was photographing the Surfers and heard a splash to my left. I just caught him coming up from the water with the fish.Lighting
The lighting was the wrong time of the day for sure....I had sport set on my camera so kept shooting as he flew up, done a U turn and headed straight for me.....Equipment
My camera is a Nikon D7200, no tripod, no flash, my lense was a Sigma 18-300mmInspiration
Everything happened so quick....I knew as soon as I saw him about to turn and head for me to do a fly over I had to keep shooting...Editing
I only done a small amount of post processing, mainly for sharpness. In my camera bag
I normally carry My Sigma 18-300mm, my wide angle lense af-s 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5g ed dx wi and my af-s 50mm f/1.4gFeedback
My advice for others trying to capture something similar is knowing your camera and your settings and knowing what works. I find shooting in sport is pretty good for Bird Shots...others may disagree, but it works for me..
