Behind The Lens

Location
Taken at Hvide Sande's piers. Beautiful lights and little details everywhere. Just a pleasure to be there and enjoy the view around the harbour.
Time
Being outside and enjoying the night is one of my favourite things to do. So here I am, standing there and enjoying the view.
Lighting
I liked those lightings on the left side of this little pier. The sky had some clouds and gave me good contrast too. I also liked how I got some indirect lighting from the already-set sun, making those clouds glow.
Equipment
The camera used was a Sony A 68 with a Tokina 20-35mm f3,5-4,6 lens. No tripod, just put it on the ground.
Inspiration
I don't walk around all day and try to take pictures. I also try to be a little different and capture the things not everyone sees, the first time they look at it. So what really inspired me? Well, I guess it's the right moment with the right emotions and some creativity.
Editing
I just did some white balance correction and set down the exposure by a bit. The RAW file almost looks the same.
In my camera bag
I have a Sony Alpha 68 and 58 as my bodies. I carry an old minolta 50mm f1,7 (u fortunately the iris adjustment doesn't work anymore, so it's at 1.7 only), a minolta 50mm f2.8 macro, which is pretty awesome, but a little slow in focus (but works well with the Alpha 68). I also have the Tamron 70-300mm f3.5-5.6. Additionally to that I have the Tokina 20-35 f3.5-4.6, which is my favourite "toy".
Feedback
First of, some things that are essential for photography in my opinion: Just capture what you feel and how you feel. Try to tell your own, unique story! Take photos when you feel like and think about what you want to display in your image and what should viewers think about it. This Image was not planned. Just fall in love with a spot and it's view. You should also be creative with your framing and try to get as low as possible (depending on your subject) and look for lighting and contrasty backrounds. Maybe you also find someone else to stand there for you or just so it yourself to add some more story into this image. This was a longer exposure, with some movement in the backround, bright lights and steady objects in the foreground.
