Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at an abandoned house in the Qu'apelle Valley north of my home.

Time

I LOVE to read, It has always been a dream of mine to own my own library actually. I was doing a photoshoot for a friend just on a whim one day after work, around 3 or 4 pm. I seen the burnt book sitting on the step and it was the first thing I went to. When inspiration strikes, snap!

Lighting

I wanted it to look sort of rustic, and I wanted to also maintain the mystery, there was no cover so I am unsure of the title and I think it adds a little to the imagination behind it.

Equipment

I just used my Canon, this was actually taken with the kit lens because I was just starting out and that was it.

Inspiration

It was burnt, on the step of an old abandoned house. How could I resist? I snapped from a variety of angles and I just li

Editing

Yes, a little bit, I use Lightroom, I cannot recall exactly what I did

In my camera bag

I have my Canon body, two batteries, several filters, an external flash, a portrait lens as well as the kit lens, Sd Cards like you wouldn't believe. I also have pencil crayons in one of the pockets for some reason....

Feedback

Keep an eye out for things that are out of the ordinary. Some of the most extraordinary pictures are the ones that we haven't even imagined yet. Take from all angles, sometimes the right angle can make or break a shot. And don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone, go a little further into the bush, try an eccentric pose, you never know what might happen.
