Amaxing!
I have a Nikon D40x camera and for some reason I can't take pics after dark.
Any suggestions?

Hi Andrew, i need to get a shot similar to this one and i have 3 nights and praying for a cloudless night as my club meet is Thursday night. This shot has a green sheen, aurora like. Great photo i hope for something similar but i listen to what the camera wants and over expose. I start with my 2.8 28-70.. F28 at 25 seconds leaves oval stars? Please post camera settings on your Nikon before i go into hyperthermia... Patrick

This is ISO 3200, F3.5 30s shutter. Shot at 18mm on 18-200. Make sure the tripod is super steady. Stay warm!
