Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at my grandmothers house in Mayerthorpe Alberta. She has a stunning garden that I always love to photograph.

Time

It’s hard to remember an exact time, but I would guess midday or afternoon.

Lighting

The lighting really worked it my favour for this shot, as the sun was directly On the flower and filtered through the trees to really make the flower shine.

Equipment

I used a Canon PowerShot.

Inspiration

Just the beautiful brightness and color of the flower and the light hitting it in such a beautiful way.

Editing

Yes, I did some editing to really stress the contrast and saturation and make the flower pop.

In my camera bag

Currently I am just using my phone ( iPhone 7) the PowerShot that I used for this image is my parents camera. I am saving up to get my own Camera soon.

Feedback

Lighting is definitely key to making a great photo pop. Having minimal things in the background to distract from your subject is helpful as well.
