This amazing thunderstorm, seen here approaching the campground, cut our vacation a day short. I wish I had gotten a better shot of it, but moments after taking this 10-image panoramic it was "run for cover" time. As it approached us, at seemingly break neck speed, you could actually see it gaining strength. There was a distinct wall cloud complete with rotation. As it turned out, this was no ordinary thunderstorm, it was a micro-burst with sustained winds of over 80 mph. Not exactly what you want to see when your cover is a pop-up camper.

Our screen house, which was staked down in 4 places, was blown over and destroyed. The awning, which was attached to the camper, was ripped clean off. And everything that wasn't in the camper or our Jeep was saturated and covered in mud from the river of rain water that developed and ran through our site. The campground had numerous downed trees and lost power for nearly 24 hours. Thankfully, however, everyone made it out OK. I didn't hear about a single injury.
