Behind The Lens

Location

The Duthie Park in Aberdeen, Scotland

Time

Late afternoon before sunset in Autumn.

Lighting

Just the background sky.

Equipment

Sony A700, Sony 16-105 Lens and the car door.

Inspiration

The reflection in the boating pond and the dimming light.

Editing

Three exposures were combined for the original shot then layered with a peeling wallpaper template from a photo magazine cd. I just picked this shot at random to try out the templates and liked the end result. I don't really get involved in this normally and don't play around with Photoshop as much as I would like. I do like HDR, if it doesn't move it gets three shots, -2 , 0 & +2. Normal post processing is confined to cropping, straightening, sharpening and exposure correction.

In my camera bag

Sony A77, A77ii, A6000, Sony 16-105, Sigma 17-85, Tamron 28-300, Sony 18-200 (e-mount) and Sony G 70-400, 2 flashguns, Polarising Filters, tripod, monopod and lots of batteries and memory cards.

Feedback

Watch the weather, wait for different lightning and try out different exposures, post processing with HDR and/or layering techniques can give very interesting results.
