This photo was taken on the Greek island of Santorini.... One of the most picturesque places I've been toTime
I specifically bugged my girlfriend in to going to the town of fera as they have spectacular views of the sunset. We got the spot i wanted and just waited for sunset and got one of my favourite photos of the holidayLighting
I was really after that silhouette look and with the sunset pouring over the cliffs in front and the boats. With the power of the sunset this worked out perfectly for meEquipment
I had just bought a Fuji XT10 with the 16-50mm lens (upgraded to the 18-55mm which is brilliant). Have to admit it's one of the best cameras I've used and great for traveling.. I also had a "case flex premium alloy tripod". Which was light enough to strap on my camera bag. Both brilliant for what I needed.Inspiration
Santorini is known for its amazing sunsets, so I wanted to try and do it justice in my photo. I'm happy with it, but still amazing to be there in person!Editing
I use lightroom mainly, and in this particular case I didn't have to do to much post processing. After importing the RAW file I just boosted the colours a bit so it looked more like it did in person, also the Black's to boost the silhouettes a touch. In my camera bag
These days first in is the Fuji 18-55mm lens which is outstanding, also a Fuji 50-230mm if I need a little bit of reach and last is a Fuji 27mm pancake lens, if I want to do some street photography or just not want to stand out as much. I use these on a Fuji XT-10 body which is my 2nd mirrorless camera and has amazing colours Fuji are known for. Also a caseflex premium tripod strapped to my bag, as I'm fond of long exposure shots so it's always coming in handy!Feedback
The main problem I had was finding the right place and having enough room as it was such a busy place where I got that shot. So definitely I'd suggest getting out early and finding the right spot and setting up well before sunset so your ready. Patience pays off in the end
