Have you heard of a painter called omar ortiz? This reminds me of his work.

Behind The Lens

Location

In the Garage in New River, AZ

Time

It was taken in the middle of the day. There were two windows on the south and east side of the garage where the sun didn't cast too much of a glare into the room. I used a white backdrop and a soft box.

Lighting

A soft box was used to minimize any shadows caused by the window light and used the same "daylight" bulbs. And made it strong enough to create the silhouette in the background.

Equipment

Sony DSC_R1 and soft box

Inspiration

It was wedding gift to my best friend. She and her husband got married on our property and she and I did this to give to her husband as a wedding gift.

Editing

Yes, I did some general Lightroom adjustments and then used On1 to create a softer effect while keeping much of her skin detail.

In my camera bag

Now I have a Canon 6D and 6Dii body, a 50mm prime, 85mm prime, 24-105mm kit lens 70mm-200mm telephoto and a 180mm macro lens as well as the Canon speedlite,

Feedback

Just find a relatively blank background and try to control the amount and direction of the light on your subject. If you don't have a soft box try a diffuser and reflector to fill in the shadows. or create them...
