Behind The Lens

Location

I didn't even have to leave the house for this one. This was taken in the kitchen.

Time

It could truly be any time of the day, since I'm indoors, but this was taken in the early afternoon.

Lighting

There was a decent natural light coming in the window, however I did a little processing in lightroom 6 to lighten some of the shadows in order to get more visible details.

Equipment

I used my handy dandy amateurish camera, a Nikon D3200. I want to say I used a 55mm prime lens for this one.

Inspiration

I must say that puppy face was what had inspired me most.

Editing

I prefer lightroom to make my tweaks, in which I lightened up some of the shadows to allow more details, as mentioned before. I also took the clarity up a notch and adjusted my whites and darks to achieve a higher contrast.

In my camera bag

Well, for starters, my Nikon D3200. Then I typically carry a nikkor 18-55mm lens, a nikkor 55mm prime lens, a nikkor 55-300mm lens, and my newest 14mm Rokinon wide angle lens. I also have a tripod, filters, cleaning kit, TV hookups and a charger.

Feedback

I may not have the best advice to give, but I would recommend taking your camera with you any time you leave the house. There are too many opportunities that can be missed. There is so much beauty with every step you take. I find that using my camera allows me to connect more with everything in front of me and in return you get an everlasting image.
