Location
This was taken at a small town called Ramelton, Co Donegal, situated on the mouth of the river Lennon.Time
I had passed this spot a number of times while working, so I aimed for this location on my day off, this was taken around midday and the harsh light threw up a challenge.Lighting
Although there was no direct sunlight, the midday light was very strong and as such I had to use an ND filter.Equipment
A canon 1D Mk 3, with a 24-105mm lens was used, as I was using the ND filter and slowing the movement of the water a tripod and remote shutter release was also used.Inspiration
Autumn is one of my favorite times of the year to photograph, when you get the right combination of colors and reflections from a river, it can make for a very special photograph, if you were to return to this location say summer, it would be all overgrown and more green.Editing
Yes Adobe Photoshop, thankfully I only ever shoot in Raw so this working with essentially a negative file gives you more freedom to adjust the final image, ideally you should be looking to capture the image in camera with minimal post processing. In my camera bag
Canon 1D Mk 3, 24-105 f 4 lens, 16-35 f2.8 lens, 50 mm f1.8, 70- 200mm plus x2 extender.Feedback
Patience, you may have to revisit the same scene many times under various conditions to capture the shot you want.
