Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in San Francisco during the Irag War protests in 2001-2002. My friend and I were travelling in a camper van from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. We happened upon a free b+w photography course which gave us all the ilford plus film we could shoot and a dark room to develop our negatives and even print some photos. This was one of my results.

Time

This was in the middle of the day

Lighting

The city was thick with anger. I have never seen so many authorities in one place before. I actually ended up getting arrested for being in the crowd on a different day than this photo was taken. Take a look at my other shots or ask me about more from this series.

Equipment

I took all of my photos during this time period with my very first SLR camera, my trusty Pentax k1000.

Inspiration

Protest=Great shots. Period.

Editing

This was one of my first ever attempts at shooting black and white and developing my own photos.

In my camera bag

I now shoot DSLR with my Canon t5i

Feedback
