Location
I took this photo in Slovenia on a lake near the small town of Kocevje. I love to travel and find unusual places, often far from big cities.Time
I was in this place during the day, but at sunset it fashinated me so I choose to capture this moment with all the reflections.Lighting
I wanted to point out the sunset focusing on colors, leaving me in mid shadow.Equipment
I shot with Canon 6D and Tamron 17-35mm lens at 17mm, set on a monopod.Inspiration
This photo is part of my work in progress "Pilgrim Photographer" (nowadays 8 photos) in which I consider the photographer as a pilgrim, constantly on the lookout for new places to capture, to discover new points of view, of himself and of the world. A wandering and then stop at the right point, to observe and shoot. Despite of current selfie style where the protagonist fills the scene, I would like to use my body as an active subject but because it is part of the landscape. A body that attends to the scene.Editing
In this shot I slightly adjusted light and shadows, plus a little saturation of colors. I also chose to add some vignetting to focus on the center of the image. In my camera bag
I have only one bag, the one in the picture. It contains two cameras (Canon 6D and my old 400D), the lenses Tamron 17-35mm (my favourite one), Tamron 70-200mm and Canon 50mm f1.8. One Canon speedlight Flash and the infrared transmitter. One variable ND filter. And obviuosly the monopod in the picture.Feedback
You can take this photo by yourself, but a little trick is to have an assistant to carry the weight of the camera set on the monopod. The assistant is also useful to quickly obtain the choosen frame.
