Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in the region of Nizhny Novgorod in Russia during the last summer, near the Volga River

Time

The photograph was taken in the afternoon. A few days earlier I had found that tree and from the moment I saw it I had in mind this photograph. For several days I waited to have a sunset with a sky as image.

Lighting

.

Equipment

To make this picture I used a Nikon D7000 with a Sigma 18-35 mm 1.8 Art and two filters: an ND filter and a 3.0 nd 0.6 gradient filter. And of course... tripod, shutter and 185 seconds

Inspiration

This photograph is part of a project called Friedrich Project, where I work on the landscape with long exposure shots. I'm interested in the dichotomy between the static result and the time lapse shooting, the relativity of space / time in which the aesthetic experience of contemplation and "unreal" image result occurs

Editing

Just up a little color intensity

In my camera bag

Nikon D7000, SIigma 18-35 mm 1.8 Art, Nikon 55 mm 2.8 AIS, NIikon 85 mm 2.0 AIS and sometimes Nikon ED 80-200 2.8. Tripod, polarizer, several Haida ND filters and holder, shutter and material to clean the camera, lenses and filters

Feedback

First, if's possible, visit the place before you want to photograph, to think that light may be at different times, which frame choose, which time of year even better. Many of my images belong to places I've previously visited. Once you've found the place, you must choose which image you want to do, you want to emphasize, that feeling you want to convey ... The best photographs are not necessarily the most spectacular, if not the best thought.
