Behind The Lens

Location

I actually took this in the models' apartment. There was a couch right next to a large window and it gave us the perfect light.

Time

I believe this was mid - late afternoon. The sun was off to the west so we got some nice directional light to play with.

Lighting

Not much. Mainly natural light through a large window and a flash with a large softbox camera left for some fill.

Equipment

Canon 7D MKii, Tamron 27 - 70 F2.8, YongNuo 600 RT flash.

Inspiration

We were just trying to have fun and get something sexy and sensual. We had a ton of photos but the light on this one just worked out perfectly.

Editing

There is minimal post processing. Just a slight contrast adjustment and a white layer set to soft light and a low opacity to enhance the haze and give it a little more depth.

In my camera bag

Always my camera of course, Canon 7D MKii. THen I have my Tamron 27 - 70 F2.8, Tamron 70 - 200 F2.8, and Canon 50 F1.8 at all times. I usually bring one, sometimes too flashes, both Yongnuo 600 RT and RT II, then a variety of softboxes and reflectors. I like to take more than I need because I'd rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it.

Feedback

I always say take lot of photos at different settings and different angles. Experiment a lot because what you think may work sometimes does but it may be that 5th, odd angle, that makes magic.
