Arrived well before dawn, and already the sky was a reddish glow to the East. I looked for some interesting foreground objects,
and I wanted Grinnell Peak reflected in Swiftcurrent Lake. I positioned my tripod near a dead tree and some rocks, and when the sun hit Grinnell Peak it really lit up a reddish glow. It lasted a few short minutes but what a sight.

There were outrageous clouds all day this September, and as the sun set,
the sky lit up red and orange. It was spectacular.

As the sun hit the mountains, the initial colors were reddish-orange for a several minutes providing brilliant lake reflections

Waterfall in the Highlands of Nova Scotia

Nymph Lake, in Rocky Mountain National Park, can be found on the trail from Bear Lake. The lily pads became more prevalent in late summer, September.

Little Mountain Stream, Smoky Mtns.

At Seal Rock Beach State Park, Oregon there is a flowage into the Ocean. It forms an S curve and at sunset, the ripples are more apparent.

Forest fires on the Western side of the Continental Divide caused the reddish haze making for a rather interesting sunset.

A snowfall overnight made little Herbert Lake a wonderful place to shoot the sunrise. The lake was placid allowing for great mountain reflections.

[The snake like rutted crack is near the Fossell Exhibit Trail, and leads to the mountain peaks in the background that lights up with the sunrise.
