Keeping the late afternoon sunlight behind me, I literally danced with this bird for several minutes trying to keep his gaze on me while shooting several pictures, focusing on the eye.Equipment

Put the light behind you. Focus on the eye. Watch your surroundings. Less people are better. Be playful and patient. Don't TRY to get a good shot. Just enjoy being in the moment and shoot.
