We were traveling to Yellowstone National park and came across the Badlands National Park. These are huge canyon like structures formed by sand and eroded by wind and water.

Location
This is a photo of the Badlands National Park. This was a view just opposite to the visitor centre. I have always tried to see frames wherever I travel. Seems like this one came right out of the box. I am self taught photographer and so I try to learn from anything and anybody.Time
This was taken on around afternoon and while we were not giving the place a worthy mention this is actually one of the best landscapes I clicked.Lighting
I was trying to get the colors not getting overexposed. Although I was shooting raw but still wanted something extra. Then suddenly there were patches of cloud blurring the sunshine to make the perfect light. So here I am, the luckiest!!Equipment
This was shot using a very minimal apparatus. The nikon d5100 with the kit lens 18-55mm.Inspiration
I am a big fan of the National Geographic magazine and always wondered to take photos that could be somewhere near to the ones printed on it. So I always tried to get pictures of moments and landscape. I am a travel freak and love to travel a lot. I wanted to print some of my own photos and so trying to make a collection of the same.Editing
I would usually process photos in Nikon Capture NX and sometimes use Adobe Light room as well. I would never be satisfied with the sharpness of the jpegs the camera would click and so I always try to post process the same as the enormosity of the place is lost if we lose the details. I try to keep the colors unaltered. In my camera bag
I would usually have my camera Nikon D5100 and kit lens 18-55mm 3.5f. Also the portrait lens nikkor 50mm 1.8f is my choice for any indoor event or family gatherings. For landscape I would love to have an upgrade but for that I need to wait. Also I have a 50-200mm nikkor 4-5.6g lens. The other accessories I carry are two filters - ND and CPL. Also I have two memory cards and a battery charger.Feedback
I have always seen that some photos are amazing when we try to process them. One should never pre-judge a frame when clicking a landscape. We never know what we have clicked until we process it. And also try to click lot of frames. May be the same element in your frame may lot from good to amazing if you change your view, angle or perspective.
