Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in Korneuburg. It is a small city in Austria. It was on August 1st and there was flood, so i went there to take some pictures.

Time

It was taken on August 1st 2016. There was flood, and i went there with my father at around 6pm to take some pictures. It was one of the last shots we took on that day.

Lighting

It was a bit difficult, because it was a cloudy day but sometimes there was sun. I really wanted to safe the atmosphere, so i had to wait for the next big cloud. Then i took the Picture.

Equipment

This shot was taken on a sony Alpha6000 with a 55-210mm lens. There was no other equipment involved. My settings were ISO 100, 120mm f5,6 at 1/80sec.

Inspiration

I saw the small green plant growing out oft he big old tree. It looked fascinating. The tree itself was stunning, but the combination with the small plant was incredible, and the brown high water is on the picture as well.

Editing

I did not do a lot of postproduction. I raised the Clarity a bit (Lightroom 5) and adjusted the dynamic a bit.

In my camera bag

Normally i take the Sony A6000 with the 18-55 Kit Lens and the 55-210 with me. I also pack the sony 50mm 1,8 and a tripod. It is perfect fort rips like on that day, because of the weight of the A6000.

Feedback

I think the picture only looks as it looks because of the cloudy weather and the bad light. I think sometimes it is not necessary to go for a photo-trip at the golden hours. Maybe, if i could take the shot again, i would pick the 50mm 1,8 too and maybe the 18mm wide.
