This photo was taken in my bedroom, late at night after playing my 40 year old guitar for a couple of hours.Time
I took this late at night in my bedroom. I had only recently bought my first DSLR and after playing my guitar for a while I was looking around my room thinking what can I photograph? I had also just bought a stacking program (gotta love Youtube) and thought a shot up the body of my Maton would be a good exercise to try. I was really happy with the result and have it proudly displayed on my wall.Lighting
I was a first time rank amateur then (probably still am) and the idea of lighting was way beyond me. I had a desk lamp and a bedside lamp that used without any real idea of anything other than to be able to see everything though the viewer. You can be lucky I guess.Equipment
I used a Nikon D5200, Sigma 105mm1:2.8DG Macro HSM lens, tripod and NO flash. The pop-up flash was a real struggle for me in the early days. I hated how the photo would look, so I rarely used a flash.Inspiration
The main inspiration was: I have a new camera, it's night time, it's raining outside, I've played my guitar enough, I have a new camera, I want to take photo's, any photo's, I love my guitar, it's a 40 year old hand made guitar & the rest is history. When the bug bites you. You have to scratch.Editing
I used Helicon Photo stacker. Converted to B&W and dropped the clarity a bit. Nothing too fancy.In my camera bag
Most of my photos are nature based so I always have a macro lens, extension tubes, wide angle and medium telephoto lenses, lens wipes, speed flash, remote, ND filters and lots of hope.Feedback
You need a nice steady tripod.
