Location
I took this photo in my best friends flower garden. She has a perfect knack for producing beautiful blooms. I loved the colour of this one flower and as i shot it, i decided i needed a closer look.Time
It was early afternoon when i took this particular shot. Sun was high overhead and the angle was perfect lighting.Lighting
Pure sunlight for this photo. Mid July, sun high in the sky, no clouds. Just an absolute photographers dream day.Equipment
I was using my canon mark II with a 55mm macro lens. Hand held as i had forgot my tripod at home.Inspiration
The bees were buzzìng around collecting pollen and i said to my friend " busy bees make beautiful flowers" and i wondered if i could catch a bee with pollen on his legs. He scooted off the flower and that resulted in a semi blurry picture so i focused on the center of the flower and got this photo.Editing
No post processing. I'm not a big fan of editting my photos. Most of them are nature photos and i want people see it the way i did.In my camera bag
I usually have my two canon bodies, my Mark II and my Rebel. 500mm lens, 300mm lens, macro, 80mm and fisheye. Bird seed, apples and a monopod. Spare memory card and 2 fully charged batteries.Feedback
Take 40 pictures and 1 will be the shot you want. I will spend 8 hrs out and about, fill a 32 gig camera card and only use about 150 pictures. Don't overthink the shot and try to be artsy with it. Sometimes the best captures are just you point and shoot.
