I don't have a studio so I think everything up on the spot. This photograph was taken in my bathroom in the bathtub. It was a little cramped but it was fun.Time
It was fairly late when I had finally got everything set up for the shoot. I needed to make the water mixture then I needed to set up my lights and my camera. It was around 9 at night.Lighting
I wanted to have the image bright and airy. So I put my two lights as far apart from each other as I could to fill the whole picture. It was pretty hard since I have such a small bathroom.Equipment
My camera and lens aren't too fancy, I saved up for a year to buy them when I was working a minimum wage job. I used my Nikon D600 and my simple 50mm 1.8 lens. I used an old Benro tripod and two lights that my older brother bought me for Christmas.Inspiration
I was looking at an old picture I had taken January of 2013. I want to see how much I have improved since then and I also wanted to get back into the habit of taking pictures. Over the past few months I had been swallowed up in depression; I wanted something to distract my mind.Editing
One of the biggest things I did was photoshop out my tripod and add in an abundance of water. Then I merged three files to add in the hair movement. Then I cropped and brightened the file.In my camera bag
I don't carry much with me. I typically only shoot with my Nikon D600 and my 50mm. So that is what is in my bag plus a tripod and a remote.Feedback
If you are wanting to make cloudy water I mixed a vanilla creamer powder and water. It created a delicious aroma and was very calming while shooting. Also just have fun with it and keep trying new things.
