I live near this lake in Eustis, Florida. I was amazed that i was able to get this shoot and show Florida at one of its best moments.Time
I left my house around 7:30pm to get down to the lake before the sunset. I got a lot of good shots this night, but I have to say this was one of my favorites. I took this shot around 8pm.Lighting
The lighting for this photo was all nature. I only used the flash that is on the camera its self. No need for any other light beside what was right in front of me.Equipment
I have a Nikon D3300 camera, which i used for this shot. The aperture was 29/1, ISO: 100, shutter speed: 1/200, and focal length: 170/1.Inspiration
I am an amateur photographer and I love the sunset and nature. So every chance I get I like to go out and get the pictures of the sunsetting. It amazes me on how different every few seconds can be in the sun and clouds. When i saw this baby gator swimming along the surface of the ripples with the sun glowing down on it, I just knew that I was seeing Florida at its best. Being able to take a shot like that and knowing that it represents this state to the tee, well it just puts a smile on my face.Editing
I did not touch this photo. I let it stay the way it was due to the fact that I believe it is great just the way it is.In my camera bag
I always have my Nikon D3300 camera. The lens I carry on it is a Tamron AF70-300mm F/4-5.6. But i always have my AF-S NIKKOR 18-55mm.I carry a few filters, my hoods and a wide angle lens.Feedback
Honestly, all I can say is be patient. It takes time to learn where to shoot from, what direction, how to use the light. Everyday I'm learning something new, every shot I learn something new. I look a lot at other photo and read blogs and watch everything I can to help myself learn even more. But the main reason I do this, well I love being behind the camera grabbing seconds that could easily be forgotten or missed.
