This was a shot taken on a grey, rainy day in Blackpool. I love the very 'Britishness' of the Victorian pier, and the weather helped me achieve the image I wanted to capture.

This photo was taken on Blackpool Beach, one very drizzly day last September. It was a family day trip.Time
This was taken in the middle of the afternoon, against wind and light rain.Lighting
The weather and grey sky created the perfect backdrop for me to capture the moodiness of the beach, and the unpredictability of our British summer. Although it wasn't planned, I was keen to take a shot of the gloomy, faded glamour of the Victorian pier. It all seemed very appealing.Equipment
It was a shot taken on a Nikon Coolpix S3600.Inspiration
I was taking photos of my daughters playing in the sea, when the typical summer beach scene in England (complete with donkey and seagull!), combined with the gloominess complimenting the faded beauty of the pier and big wheel seemed like a very enticing shot to me.Editing
I downloaded the shot to my Dropbox account, then applied a filter via Google photos on my samsung phone to enhance the moodiness. Having said that, it differs only very slightly to the original image. In my camera bag
All my shots are taken on my Samsung Galaxy S7 these days, so that's the only equipment I have.Feedback
As this was a chance shot, I would advise people to always have some form of camera at the ready for that opportune moment.
