Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken of my chives growing out on my patio.Every year when spring comes I get excited to see the blooms. I take pictures of them every year and they always come out different and more beautiful then the year before.

Time

This was taken first thing in the morning when everything is dewy and the light is just perfect.

Lighting

The lighting was from when the sun first comes over the mountain in the morning.

Equipment

I used my cannon t5 with my 50mm lens.

Inspiration

I read an article about free lensing. I started playing with my lens, taking it off and turning it around to get a better macro shot. I saw how amazing you could make your photos look and just kept playing with different lighting and textures.

Editing

I only added a light green gradient to blend the background alittle better.

In my camera bag

I was using my t5 all the time with my 75-300mm kit lens and my 50mm. I have since upgraded to an 80D and could have made a better choice. I love it.

Feedback

My advice to capture something similar would be to play with your lens. Holding it further and closer will give it a different look. I held it further away and got light leaks that made that foggy look that I love in this picture.
