I took this photo not expecting to. On my way to a funeral I happened to see this butterfly fly around my head, I saw it land and thought I just had to get a shot. This butterfly was so beautiful and so calm and it allowed me to get so close I could touch it and it didn't seem to care. I was able to get so many good shots and from different positions. This just happened to be my favorite.

Location

I took this photo in a wooded area of an empty house that I walk by every day.

Time

I took this photo mid afternoon on a Tuesday on my way to a funeral.

Lighting

Believe it or not I shot this image with my cell phone camera. I used my flash even though I was already outside. No other lighting adjustments or any editing other than cropping to zoom in on the butterflly

Equipment

I used my cellphone and flash.

Inspiration

I was not looking to capture an image of this beautiful butterfly. As I was walking I saw it fly in front of my face and saw it land. It looked beautiful and the first time I have seen this type of butterfly in years so I knew that I had to try to capture the an image. What was strange was I was actually able to get close and I mean so close I could touch it. It seemed like it wasn't bothered by what I was doing.
