Location
This photo was taken in May 2016 at The Aviary in the Jacksonville Zoo, Jacksonville, Florida. I have had no training in photography and just like to take pictures of animals, nature, things I find interesting, fun, or inspire curiosity as to the history of a building, object, or location.Time
This picture of the Roseate Spoonbill was taken around noon. The bird was putting on quite a show, flying around The Aviary, when it happened to land on this wire and immediately began a tightrope walk across. I would like to say I am talented, but to be honest, I was just taking pictures of the bird as it was showing off when it happened to land. Because I was following the bird and snapping pictures, I managed to capture to shot.Lighting
There is nothing noteworthy to share about the lighting. It is just the natural light for that time of day.Equipment
This shot was on my Galaxy S6 Smartphone.Inspiration
The bird itself and its actions made it interesting to capture its antics in pictures. The bird was a showoff, and it was as of he knew the people in The Aviary were watching him and he wasn't going to let them leave disappointed.Editing
I did not do any post-processing. As a digital photo, I would be limited to whatever filters are on my camera or photo editing software on my computer. I do not have any experience or training in enhancing my pictures with post-processing. Other than occasionally applying a filter to remove the color, my finished pictures are usually as is and what was captured by the camera. In my camera bag
I always have my Galaxy S6 Smartphone, unless I am specifically headed out and about to take pictures. Then I have a Samsung WB150F and a Nikon Coolpix L830.Feedback
As an amateur and an individual without training or experience who just enjoys taking pictures, the best, and only advice, I can give for others of the same training and experience would be just to be aware of your surroundings. If you know what kind of photographs you enjoy looking at, then look for opportunities to see your surroundings in a photograph. Take the picture and see what comes out. Have some patience when dealing with active animals, and take multiple pictures. At some point, they will give you at least one shot you're looking for or worth keeping. As a hobby, it's all about having fun. I certainly cannot mess anything up.
