Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken at the Cambridge butterfly conservatory in Ontario canada

Time

Shot in the late morning as the sun shines through the glass roof just perfectly.

Lighting

The conservatory is very open to allow as much natural light as possible regardless of what time of day.

Equipment

Taken with a canon EOS rebel T6 and a 75-300mm lens.No other equipment was involved.

Inspiration

Although my favourite butterfly is the blue morpho, orange just happens to be my all time favourite colour. It worked out that as I was walking the situation set itself up perfectly.I couldn’t resist such an easy shot. The contrast between the green and orange is awe inspiring.

Editing

Some slight alterations were made.Increase in exposure and brightness were necessary otherwise nothing else was touched.

In my camera bag

I always carry my canon EOS rebel T6,my 18-55mm lens and my 75-300mm lens. The rest depends on what I am going out to photograph.Nature such as flowers require me to have my macro filters at the ready.Landscape such as the Rockies or prairie views I tend to make sure I have my wide angle lens attachment and wildlife requires my telephoto attachment.

Feedback

Follow your heart in a sense.Pay attention to what the situation has to offer.Be open to everything & let the creativity flow.Everything has beauty if you’re willing to see it.
