When it comes to waterfalls, the first thing that comes to my mind is Columbia River gorge. But being in the midwest its hard to find anything close to those. Nevertheless, Spring does bring even the lesser known ones to life too especially after a lot of rain. This time, I made it a point to visit the Matthiessen State Park and I could hear the sound of gushing water from the entrance. My first plan was, to visit the Lower Dells but I took the other way to see how the Lake Falls look like. I believe this one has more compositional elements than the Lower Dells. I was attracted to the foreground swirls and the bank which created a leading line to the falls. The clouds were just clearing up which actually created very good lighting deep inside the canyon.

I used a Circular Polarizer to cut down the reflection and also blended in 3 separate exposures to reach to this.
