Location
This is on our family land in Brazoria, Texas. The sunrise view overlooking the pastures and old barns. These are our pecan trees. The land is just beautiful. With over twenty acres there is always something to shoot.Time
This was taken at sunrise. Love the fog out in the pastures in the morning. Thought the airplane streak added an extra element to my shot.Lighting
I prefer natural lighting. I love sunrise and sunset. I have an app on my phone that gives me times each day for golden hour. I have my camera with me a lot when on the land. We have twenty acres and all throughout the day I will capture so many beautiful pics with shadows and lighting depending on where the sun is.Equipment
I shoot with a Canon 70D. I have a variety of lenses I switch off and on depending on what I am trying to capture. I prefer to be walking around so I do not use tripod. I love natural light and usually turn off the flash.Inspiration
I am so in love with our family land. It is so inspirational for me to just spend the day out taking pictures and walking the pastures. It has been in the family for over 100 years. I just got back from a trip and in one week took over 1300 pictures. I have not posted any yet. I just see the shots as I am taking them. I trust my feelings when deciding which ones to edit and post. Recently I have been going through my folders of past trips and realizing I may have missed many other shots and need to edit them.Editing
I edit all my pictures in Affinity Photo. I do not do much editing. I will brighten the pic and bring up the color a little. I do not like the editing process and admit I really do not know how to do very much. I prefer more natural pictures not over edited pics. I just want to be out shooting pictures. I wish they were easier to process. In my camera bag
I have my Canon 70D and a variety of lenses. I just got the Sigma 600mm zoom lens and am having fun shooting with it.Feedback
Just be up early. Watch for the lighting at different times of the day. I love early morning light and early evening light for color and shadows.
