Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Rodanthe, North Carolina.

Time

I had taken numerous pictures on this vacation and just happened to catch this at the right time. And that right time was about 1:30 pm.

Lighting

There is nothing noteworthy regarding the lighting. I had just began taken pictures and didn't really know much about lighting.

Equipment

The only equipment involved was the camera which was a Canon Coolpix P500.

Inspiration

This is one of my favorite pictures ever. This was my granddaughter's second vacation to the beach. So I took hundreds and hundreds of photos...just trying to capture the right moment.

Editing

In this photo, I did use sepia and color splash. The reason for this is the background is quite cluttered and there had been times that onlookers didn't even notice the seagull. So I used sepia and color splash to try to bring out the photo's actual subjects.

In my camera bag

The only things I keep in my camera bag is plenty of SD cards and the charger.

Feedback

The advice I offer is to keep your camera very close and just keep snapping!
