Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on my terrace,

Time

One summer day ,after 7pm, the sun slowly went down, and light was perfect difuse.

Lighting

I prefer natural light, and when I made this photo, the sun was behind me.

Equipment

This was shot with my Nikon D5100, with my first lens , 18-55mm. Nikon was on tripod.

Inspiration

I have a collection of old film cameras , and this medium format Pentacon six is one of my favourite camera.I inherited from my dad photographer this Pentacon. when I shot myself i love to pose with some cameras.I love to pose with the camera, then I feel relaxed and natural

Editing

Minimum post-processing ,only crop and convert to black and white.

In my camera bag

When i go to photographing random , i try to bring minimum equipment in my bag ,and packed Nikon D5100 , with 18-70mm and 35mm 1.8. If a shooting models and portraits , my bag is bulky ,and bring manfrotto tripod , metz lights , triggers ,collapsible reflector and one assistant.

Feedback

Try to find good light ,this is half of job .Perfect time is after sunrise ,and befere sunset. Clouds can be a good difuser. My best cheap investment was collapsible reflector,my honest recommendation. Try to shoot portraits in the natural environment, people are then relaxed and portraits are honest.
