Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my back garden in Norfolk, England.

Time

It was taken early afternoon, the kids were playing in the paddling pool and we're getting a bit fed up of me taking pictures of them so I thought I'd give something new a try.

Lighting

All the lighting is natural light as it was taken outside in a sunny afternoon.

Equipment

The image was taken on a Nikon D600 with a Nikon 24-70 f2.8 lens and was shot handheld.

Inspiration

I'd always seen images like this on the Internet and in magazines so I thought I'd give it a try.

Editing

There was some cropping done as the background was a little busy, above that it was just a levels adjustment and some sharpening in Lightroom.

In my camera bag

My bag contains a Nikon D600 and a D7000 and for lenses I have Nikon 50mm f1.8, 24-70 f2.8, 70-200 f2.8 and a Samyang 14mm f2.8 for my wide field Astro imaging.

Feedback

If you want to give something a try then do it, the beauty of digital is that the results are available to view immediately so if something isn't right you can delete the image, tweak the settings and go again and most importantly of all, have fun.
