The Hemlock Trail in western Pennsylvania is one of the few old-growth forests left in Pennsylvania. It is a beautiful forest with lush green ferns, groundpine and mayapple covering the forest floor. Foxfire lines the trail, and at dusk creates a dim glow, showing the path and making the use of a flashlight unnecessary. My two grand children pretend that there are fairies that live here and are constantly looking for signs of where they live.
