Location
I was out for a walk with friends along the Kings Norton Canal (UK), travelling along the tow path.Time
Mid afternoon, it was a lovely day.Lighting
The sun was just past full in the sky meaning it created a lovely effect on the Dragonfly's body and wings.Equipment
I used my OnePlus One which is a little known brand of mobile phone, an amazing price but brilliant specs while it isn't the greatest for photography being a mobile phone it does the job of holding onto memories while I save up for something else. Technically I used a stick also to save the Dragonfly from the water.Inspiration
As we walked along it was noticed that a Dragonfly was in the water flailing about, I couldn't just leave it so with a stick we fished it out of the water so it could dry off, as it started to dry I noticed the amazing myriad of colours and wanted to capture what I could of it.Editing
I pretty much refuse to do post processing a I like pictures to be natural as I see so many over doctored photographs and in my view the skill is in finding and taking a shot not adding to it later. In my camera bag
Nothing, I have just restarted with photography in the past year or so, due to being out of work I don't really have any equipment bar my phone, I look forward to a future with a camera that I can zoom with without destroying the image quality.Feedback
The joy of digital photography is being able to take more pictures than you need of a scene and look back at which of the few you have taken captures the scene best never forget this as the smallest thing or slipped thumb (bane of my life having big hands) that comes into the shot. Experiment, I am mostly still in this stage while I have learned a lot about lighting I am still playing around to see what works.
