Behind The Lens
Location
I took this photo at a car show here in Mount Vernon, NY. I'm an amateur photographer who loves taking and processing pictures. I like form and look for interesting designs in nature and common objects.Time
I took this on a terribly hot day around noon.Lighting
I prefer first or last light but circumstances don't always cooperate. I got lucky with the light refelcting off the chrome, a star filter helped.Equipment
Canon T3 with an 18-55 lens, Tiffen Vector Star filter.Inspiration
Gotta love an old Caddy.Editing
I bracketed the shot and used Photomatix Pro, followed with Serif PhotoPlus for fine-tuning. I'm self-taught and still finding my way with post-processing but love it.In my camera bag
Canon T3, Canon 18-55 lens, Tamron 70-300 zoom. I bracket most of my shots to merge in post-processing so I use an Amazon Basic tripod, inexpensive but does the trick. I also carry ND fliters for moving water.Feedback
I realized I'm not taking pictures of things but of light, so I always pay attention to the light. I've gotten some good pictures of everyday things when the light is good and found some really interesting things to turn out as boring photos if the light wasn't right.
