This is a sad story. Broke my heart. I photographed this limpkin moving her eggs in her nest that she built right on the water. The next day I went back and the nest was gone. People told me an alligator had eaten the eggs. I don't know why she put her eggs where gators can get them or if they always do that. But there she was on the tree, calling out a haunting cry as if she was mourning the loss of her babies
